For this mini project we were asked to create designs for footwear. As someone who loves loafers, I wanted to add a fresh twist to a more traditional shoe. My goal was to bring a playful aspect to a formal shape. The lug sole, bow motif, and square-toe shape combine masculine and feminine elements, while still maintaining the essence of a true loafer. The work below includes thumbnails, working drawings and the finished design concept.
