Roost - Wireframing Project

May 2024

In my wireframing course, I was challenged to pick a problem I experience and create an app to solve the problem. Through wireframing, I gained fundamental skills in storyboarding and taking an idea from low-fidelity sketches into a functional mock-up in Figma. My challenge was keeping track of organizational tasks, such as groceries, finances, and chores, when living with many roommates. I created Roost, a system to keep track of all things communal living.

I was inspired by eclectic, vintage typography.

Storyboarding

After drawing a few basic screens, I built out Roost’s skeleton to map out the function. At this stage, I was focused on the interactions between screens and later focused on aesthetics.

Mood board

Throughout this process, I challenged myself to find an aesthetic niche for Roost. The app’s visual appeal was just as important as its function.

I put together a mood board to inspire Roost’s look.
